Run in Milan

Dear Runner,

The altar piece of Pigello Portinari has been waiting a restoration for a long time. The work has finally begun thanks to Fondazione Atlante (a non-profit organization involved in social initiatives related to culture and sustainable tourism) and Podisti da Marte (a non-profit organization established by "charity runners").

The panel, attributed to Giovanni da Vaprio or a master close to Benedetto Bembo, was painted in the second half of the 15th century and is located in the chapel with the same name in the Basilica of Sant'Eustorgio in Milan, not far from the well-known sarcophagus of the Magi.

Il dipinto "Pigello Portinari e San Pietro Martire", datato nella seconda metà del 15° secolo, è di grande importanza storica ed è situato nella Cappella Portinari della Basilica di Sant’Eustorgio a Milano. Il restauro è stato recentemete avviato grazie all'intervento di Fondazione Atlante e Podisti da Marte.
