CHAMPIONSDespite the name of the team we are only 4 normal runners, even quite “seasoned”…”old” someone may say…

Having say that, we are from different sites, functions and departments and what unite us all, apart the love for running, is our belief that our participation to this relay race for this cause (the research on cancer AIRC) is something good and valuable.

Indeed, we seized the opportunity offered to us by ALSTOM and feel very honored to be chosen for this relay. What to say more… we will do all that we can, our best, to honor the cause and help in the fundraising.

See you on the 2nd of April in Milan.

What can I say, I run for 26 years, one day I decided to do it and I have not stopped since, every night when I go out to race I always think the luck that I have and that others do not. Running is nice, but I think it is also one of the most grueling sports, maybe that's why, in a sense, we are closer to those who suffer on a daily basis, only perhaps to be able to do things that everyone does so effortlessly, without thinking , how to live a normal life, for example.

Do not I know my words might seem trivial, but they sure are from my heart. If I can do something to help those less fortunate than me I do it willingly, if I have only to run ... it really seems the least I can do.

Running this relay race for me is an honor and I hope to be helpful to this noble cause.

I am "sick" of running now for 14 years (in particular fond of the Marathon) and with tumors and cancer have personal scores to settle (they took my father and also some friends, all still too young), so facing an opportunity of this kind, proposed directly by the company I work for, I could only say "Yes!"

The only question was whether I would ever get picked for this thing of the relay: I am not a "sprinter" and there are so many of my colleagues, even here in Savigliano, that are really stronger and  better runner of me.

However, at the end, here I am in the midst of this team of "seasoned talents", perhaps undeservedly, but certainly "justifiably" - in the sense that I have a lot of reasons to try to do my best to honor (and maybe help to pick up a few extra money) and give prestige to an initiative which I think really to be good and right.
