Fundraising for AIABA ONLUS.

Thank you for visiting this site. I'm part of a group of old school friends who are raising money for AIABA ONLUS, a special educational centre in Florence. Over the years I have enjoyed visiting Indira  (former school friend) and her family who live in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. They are actively involved in AIABA, as their son, Pierfrancesco, attends this centre. Pierfrancesco is now twenty-one years old and a vulnerable adult. He is happy and relaxed in familiar environments , and with people he knows well. Pierfrancesco communicates with few words, and relies on understanding familiy members or carers who can cater for his needs. He has a loving and quirky personality but life is not easy for him, as he gets upset by change and therefore relies on a stable routine.

For Pierfrancesco and his peers, it is essential that they have a future of care mapped out for them. AIABA now provides excellent day care with dedicated and caring staff. However, they urgently need extra funding in order to expand to more permanent, residential care for the future.

We have formed a fundraiser group and are going to walk 100km along an old pilgrims route in Tuscany to support this cause.
