OOCL corre per la Mezza di Genova 2016 !

Corri-Amo ad esplorare il mondo! #OOCLEmployeeVolunteering2016

Quando ho sentito dell’iniziativa Corri-Amo ad esplorare il mondo! promossa da Il Porto dei Piccoli non ho potuto dentro di me tirarmi indietro per aiutare i miei amici in questa nuova sfida.

Da anni la Società nella quale lavoro (OOCL) sostiene con l’aiuto di tutti i miei colleghi questa associazione che è ormai presente in diverse parti di Italia oltre alla Liguria. Fin dalle prime settimane dalle quali abbiamo inziato a donare il nostro sostegno, ci siamo resi conto dell’impegno e della dedizione che occorre avere per poter incontrare, sostenere e aiutare i bambini e le loro famiglie che vivono in una situazione di disagio. Questo disagio molte volte puo’ essere realmente molto grande, e allontanarli dalla vita che la maggior parte delle persone vive quotidianamente. Ho potuto poi provare in prima persona, con alcune visite in ospedale, il reale senso di sofferenza che si prova in simili situazione e quanto si possa aiutare con un sorriso o con alcuni momenti di svago. Ecco, questo è proprio il prezioso lavoro che in tanti differenti maniere l’associazione Il Porto dei Piccoli e i suoi ragazzi compiono ogni giorno attraverso le loro attività.

Per questo motivo, pur non essendo un runner esperto, nel 2014 ho partecipato alla mia prima Corrigenova, per poi ripetere l’esperienza in altre due competizioni simili  e ho deciso quest’anno di cimentarmi ancora in questa “impresa” percorrendo 13.5 Km.

Appunto per questo motivo sarà sicuramente una prova non facile per me ma il mio impegno è massimo ad arrivare in fondo e spero lo sia anche il vostro nel dare un piccolo aiuto ai nostri amici della associazione aderendo alla raccolta fondi del progetto Corri-Amo ad esplorare il mondo!

When I heard of the initiative Corri-Amo (Marathon) to explore the world! sponsored by the no-profit association Il Porto dei Piccoli I could not pull myself back from helping my friends in this new challenge sponsored by Il Porto dei Piccoli.

For years, the company where I work (OOCL) has been supporting with the help of all my colleagues  this association that is now present in different parts of Italy as well as Liguria. From the first weeks from which we started to give our support, we straight away understood the commitment and dedication that is necessary in order to support and help children and their families living in an uncomfortable situation. This discomfort many times can be actually very big, and turn them away from normal life that most people live every day. I was able to experience for myself, when visiting for a few times the hospital, the real sense of suffering in similar situation and how can just a simple smile or some moments of leisure help a lot. So that's the valuable work that in so many different ways the association Il Porto dei Piccoli and his voluntaries make every day through their activities.

For this reason, although not an expert runner, in 2014 I attended my first Corrigenova, only to repeat the experience in two other similar competitions, and even this year I decided to participate to this 13.5 km event. For these reasons it will surely be a difficult test for me but my commitment is to complete the marathon and I hope you all will make your best in giving a little contribution for our friends of the association adhering to the fundraising project Corri-Amo (Marathon) to explore the world!
