Una nuova frontiera per monitorare e mitigare l’impatto delle plastiche in mare nel Mediterraneo

Plastic Busters nelle Aree Marine Protette del Mar Mediterraneo!

La tematica dei rifiuti marini (marine litter), ed in particolare dei detriti di plastica, è urgente e sta ricevendo sempre maggiore attenzione . Per quanto riguarda il mar Mediterraneo , il rischio posto agli ecosistemi da parte dei rifiuti marini comprende sia l’impatto sulla biodiversità che sui diversi comparti ambientali.

Il Rotary Club Montaperti con questo crowdfunding ha l’obiettivo di svolgere attività di ricerca, monitoraggio e conseguenti azioni di mitigazione in un Area Marina Protetta del Mar Mediterraneo con particolare interesse ecologico.

L’area di studio sarà l’Area Marina Protetta delle Isole Egadi

Attività :

- campionamento e monitoraggio di macro e microplastiche : galleggianti, sul fondo ,sulle spiagge delle MPAs ed ingerite dalle specie di interesse;

- azioni di mitigazione e divulgazione

RCS attraverso questo crowdfunding mette a disposizione questo anno pettorali per la griglia 2000\3000 per la Granfondo Strade Bianche 2022. Quota minima da sottoscrivere per il diritto al pettorale fissata in € 220.00, da raccogliere entro il 20 febbraio 2022.

Plastic Busters in the Marine Protected Areas of the Mediterranean Sea!

The theme of marine litter, and of plastic litter in particular, has become an urgent matter and it is receiving growing attention . As far as the Mediterranean Sea is concerned, the risk the ecosystems run because of marine litter includes the impact on both biodiversity and different environmental sectors.

The Rotary Montaperti with this crowdfunding has the objective to develop research projects as well as monitoring activities and consistent mitigating actions in marine protecte area of the Mediterranean Sea with a special ecological interest : the MPAs of the Isole Egadi

Activities:

-Sampling and monitoring of floating macro and microplastics, on the seabed , on the shores of MPAs and ingested by relevant species

-Mitigating and educational actions.
