Grazie!

When you receive a brain tumor diagnosis, you are catapulted into a new and unknown dimension made up of lots of informations and long therapies. The life of patients and their families takes the rhythm of appointments and treatments.
Time changes shape several times: at times it appears slow and repetitive and at times it seems fast and elusive.
In this time, psychological support, human warmth and empathy can make a big difference in the quality of life of patients and their families.
The word has great power in the treatment process and it is precisely through this tool that we want to be at the side of people, through a psycho-oncological support desk activated in the hospital, in particular at the "Carlo Besta" Neurological Institute in Milan, and / or remotely, providing a listening service that aims at the best possible quality and proximity.

As neurophysiologist Fabrizio Benedetti reminds us, “hope is a drug” and words are important tools with which to relieve pain.

For 23 years, the Italian Association of Brain Tumors - AITC (www.tumoricerebrali.it) has been taking care of patients with brain cancer and their families, with the aim of filling the feelings of disorientation and loneliness resulting from the diagnosis of the disease.
The Association was born from the direct experience of those who accompanied and lived the hard path of oncological treatments, in memory of two special women.

Thanks to the #titengotesta campaign, AITC will be able to be more and more alongside people in the fight against brain tumor, offering more psychotherapy interventions, in support of the sick, their families and health personnel.
The Association intends to represent a competent and reassuring place in which to welcome and support what is rare for others, but which for AITC is humanly ordinary.

We need your help to expand our team and thus be able to accommodate the needs of more and more people, expanding the service throughout the national territory. With a small contribution from everyone, we will be able to increase our resources and our support to those who need it.

Furthermore, AITC can only be close, even with economic support, to the neurological sciences, through the support to young Researchers, in particular to those forced abroad who would like to return to return that great scientific heritage that belongs to our country, even as a message and stimulus for many young students.
There are many research projects on stand-by or closed in the drawers of the laboratories that deserve to be concluded or started, with significant benefits for patients and positive economic effects for the Researchers and their Supporters.

Different activities require a lot of effort and everyone's contribution could make a difference for us!
Thanks!
