DayAfterDay - Orfanotrofio Diurno

ITALIAN VERSION

Il DAD è un centro di accoglienza diurno che oggi offre supporto sociale, educativo e medico a 22 bambini di strada, orfani di Mekelé, Etiopia

Nella sola città di Mekelé si contano circa 5,000 bambini orfani / semi-orfani (ufficialmente) che vivono in strada durante il giorno e dormono presso parenti od amici. Alcuni di essi frequentano la scuola.

 Il DAD fornisce supporto:

• Cibo e vestiti

• Educazione all’igiene  e ad una corretta alimentazione

• Integrazione all’insegnamento scolastico con particolare attenzione all’apprendimento dell’Inglese

• Sport e gioco

• Un ambiente caldo, protetto e stimolante dove costruire legami sani con i compagni ed il personale del DAD… crescere…. lontani dalla strada

•  fondatori di DayAfterDay sono Alessandro e Marina Casagni con Alessandro e Raffaella Pellizzari.

… ma non possiamo farcela da soli: abbiamo scelto l’Associazione ONLUS Milena che opera già da tempo con principi e metodi che condividiamo e che ha accolto il nostro progetto …

Le nostre motivazioni

• Vogliamo fornire un aiuto sostenibile con una prospettiva di lungo termine

• Innescare un ciclo virtuoso: nutrire ed educare bambini che, da adulti, contribuiscano al progresso del loro Paese

• Abbiamo avviato il progetto DayAfterDay (“DAD”), un centro di accoglienza diurno per i bambini di strada, orfani di Mekelé. I bambini del DAD ricevono assistenza, cibo, vestiti ed educazione

• Vogliamo dimostrare che questo può essere fatto da persone “normali” che conducono delle vite “normali” in Italia

• Coinvolgiamo la nostra rete di amicizie in questo progetto

• Lasciare un segno sulla vita dei bambini è per noi una grande gratificazione

The DAD is a day care center for street children that provides considerable social support, educational and medical to 25 street children, orphans of Mekele, Ethiopia. In the city of Mekele, there are about 5,000 orphans / semi-orphans (officially) living on the streets during the day and sleep at relatives or friends. Some of them attend school.

DAD provides support:

• Food and clothing

• Hygiene education and proper nutrition

• Integration schooling with particular attention to learning of English

• Sport and game

• A warm, safe and stimulating place to build healthy bonds with classmates and staff DAD ... grow .... off the streets

DayAfterDay founders are Alessandro and Marina Casagni with Alessandro and Raffaella Pellizzari.

... But we can not do it alone: we have chosen the Association Milena NGO ONLUS that works in Mekele with the principles and methods that we share and that has welcomed our project ...

We want to provide a sustainable support with a long-term perspective and trigger a virtuous cycle: feed and educate children, as adults, to contribute to the progress of their country.

We started the project DayAfterDay ("DAD"), a day center for street children, orphans of Mekele. Children DAD receive assistance, food, clothing and education. We want to show that this can be done by "normal" people who lead lives of "normal" in Italian.

We involve our network of friendships in this project.

Make a mark on the lives of children is for us a great gratification
