English Version: A journey made of three journey, the preparation for one of the most famous marathons in the world, the trip to NewYork and the marathon which is a journey itself. And a concrete project that gives a higher meaning to this initiative.

This is what #26W26M in just a few words: 26 weeks of preparation to run the 26 miles separating the Varazzano Bridge from the finish line in Central Park.

Taking part in this are four friends, Alessandro, Franz, Ippolito and Matteo, who share a passion for the race and a desire to challenge themselves.

Iraq is a war-torn country where over 3 million people have fled to seek shelter in areas far away from fighting and 11 million need humanitarian assistance.

The country's health system has collapsed and millions of people have no access to even basic health care either.

Currently, EMERGENCY manages a Rehabilitation and Social Reintegration Centre in Sulaymaniya, specialised in physiotherapy and the production of prostheses for disabled patients due to anti-personnel mines. It also provides health care to Iraqi and Syrian refugees in the camps of Arbat and Kalar.

Since January, with the worsening of the Mosul conflict, Emergency staff are active 24 hours a day at the Emergency Hospital in Erbil.

The goal of the four marathon runners is to raise 15,000 euros, a major challenge, but they are determined not only to run the New York City Marathon but also to catalyse the help of many friends and virtually support the activity of Emergency in Iraq.

Of course there is a challenge within the challenge: who will raise the most? Choose your champion and contribute to Emergency!"
