Come?

  • Dona 20€  - UNA TAPPA

Francesco is the founder and president of the foundation Isla ng Bata - L'isola dei Bambini (Children’s Island). He lives in the Philippines together with his wife Flora, his daughter Luce and 28 young girls who all live in the Group Home in Calabnugan, Negros Island in the Philippines. His mission, which has now become his life’s work, is to help children in difficulty, give them a place to live and the love of a family, guarantee them a good education through schooling and any treatment they may need in order to grow healthily.

Due to a high level of poverty, children In the Philippines are often abandoned by their families. Young girls in particular are prone to suffer from child abuse and exploitation by their foster parents or the neighbors to whom they are assigned or entrusted. They live in metal shacks, beg on the streets or become members of child gangs who commit petty crimes and live by their wits. They do not go to school and, once their mother has left them, there is no one to take care of them.
It is because of this that Francesco has decided to launch a challenge to all those who dream of a better child-friendly world, cycling the length of Italy from Santa Maria di Leuca to Brunico (Yes, that’s right, from north to south!!!) to bear witness to the fact that together it is possible to give hope to children who cannot make it on their own.

Cycling for them means cycling together with them, telling people their stories, what they have been through and what their dreams are. In fact, the real challenge is gaining the knowledge and understanding which goes straight to the heart to whoever decides to act in order to support the rights of children who cannot make it on their own.
It is an opportunity for everyone to take part. Here’s how you can help:

• Cycle along with Francesco and other volunteers from the Group Home for some of the ride
• Do some fund raising in order to guarantee schooling for the children of Calabnugan

We are really looking forward to meeting you in order to tell you the wonderful stories of “our children’s” resilience and courage. Here’s how you can contribute to making this dream come true:
