Vivere con Lentezza works directly in the slums of Jaipur – India, bringing teachers and doctors, medicine, food and water. Children living in slums have houses made with plastic found on street corners, soil as a floor and a maximum of a bed for an entire family. They have no access to training, education and essential medical care, they do not have a home to go back to, they eat poorly, they drink non-drinkable water and they are often victims of physical, psychological and sexual aggressions. Boys and girls are used to fetch water and looking after little brothers and sisters, to cook, but they can also be sent to work, to beg, to sell themselves. Sometimes these children are sold for illegal trades or forced marriages. We wanto to offer them a better future by learning Hindi, mathematics and English, but also to listen to them, to give them care that can help them build their confidence and self- estimate. We want to improve the services we already offer but we would like to use these € 7,000 to give 2,000 boys and girls the opportunity to learn through play. We will pay a teacher for each slum, so that they can care for and guide children through recreational and educational activities and we will buy material to play, color, learn and have fun. We would like the new generations experience the right to education, but also the right to play and happiness.
