Amanda and J run for Mission Bambini

Loading...

Dear friends, family and colleagues,

On April 5th, we will be taking our running abroad to participate in the 2020 Generali Milano Marathon. We are excited to explore Milan and experience the adventure of running in our first international full marathon (26.2 miles).

As part of this journey, we are also taking our fundraising efforts abroad. Although we enjoy supporting various local causes that are near and dear to our hearts, we believe this event provides us with a great opportunity to help those in need on a more global platform. Additionally, as I work for a subsidiary of Generali, I wanted to take full advantage of supporting Generali's chosen cause, The Human Safety Net, which is simply a movement of people helping people. The Human Safety Net partners with various causes throughout the world. Since we will be in Milan, we will be raising money to donate to the Mission Bambini Foundation in support the "Ora di Futuro" center in Milan, a partner of The Human Safety Net.

A little bit about the Mission Bambini Foundation:

Mission Bambini has been operating since 2000 to “Help and support poor, sick and uneducated children suffering from moral or physical violence to give them hope and the opportunity to lead a life worth living”. To date, the programs supporting children and teenagers in Italy and abroad have benefited 1.400.000 children in 75 countries worldwide with the implementation of 1.600 projects. Mission Bambini focuses on two main topics: education in Italy and the treatment of childhood heart diseases abroad. In Italy, it deals with the problem of families’ isolation in the fulfilment of their educational function, especially under precarious social conditions. Since 2006, Mission Bambini has contributed to providing or widening the range of services for early childhood throughout Italy by improving the educational offer in terms of spaces and services, so that disadvantaged families can increasingly be supported in the relations with their children.
