>>> The Human Safety Net in Italia – Ora di Futuro

>>> The Human Safety Net iniziativa globale - Parenting for lifelong Health

The Human Safety Net - For Families Program: supporting parents since the birth of their children

The first six years of life are crucial for children's cognitive and social-emotional development, as it is when 90% of their brain develops. From the very start of their life, a positive and responsive parenting is essential to provide a nurturing environment for children. For families who live in vulnerable circumstances, it is even more challenging to adequately nurture the growth of their young children – and around 250 million of them are globally at risk of falling behind for the rest of their lives. In 17 countries where the program is active with 35 partners, we provide these parents with opportunities to be engaged in storytelling, reading and play activities, to receive advice on key topics such as health and nutrition and team up with other mothers, fathers and caregivers, since their children’s birth.

Running with us you can contribute to The Human Safety Net - For Families program and support one of our 3 partners active in Italy in the "Ora di Futuro" project or our global initiative "Parenting for Lifelong Health".

Under the section «Fundraiser», you can activate your fundraising campaing for each partner/project and know more about the activities.

>>> The Human Safety Net – Ora di Futuro

In Italy, we support families through “Ora di futuro” - an education project focusing on children and involving teachers, families, primary schools and non-profit networks throughout Italy. “Ora di Futuro” is promoted by Generali Country Italy together with The Human Safety Net, Generali Group’s global initiative for the community. The project supports primary school children to manage resources and make responsible choices on major issues such as health and welfare, environmental resources, economy and savings, and supports initiatives focusing on parenthood and targeting families in financial difficulties with children from 0 to 6 thanks to the collaboration with non-profit networks chosen by Generali employees.

Run with us and you will be able to support one of the three partners and extend their range of services in the following centres:

- Albero della Vita in the centre for Ora di Futuro in Milan,

>>> The Human Safety Net global initiative - Parenting for lifelong Health

The Human Safety Net is supporting the global initiative “Parenting for Lifelong Health” (PLH) to promote playful, nurturing caregiving and prevent violence against children with messages and resources for parents based on strong evidence and research. Together with The Human Safety Net, PLH will develop and pilot two innovative digital solutions for providing free online access to these resources worldwide in all sort of settings: ParentText and ParentChat.

ParentText is an interactive text message system for parents, which proposes daily activities to families, while offering positive feedback and on-demand content through a chatbot, all via SMS in order to reach low-income communities that might not even have access to smartphones. ParentChat offers a methodology for facilitating parenting support groups on online messaging platforms such as WhatsApp or Viber, with facilitators who guide activities through multimedia content.

The PLH initiative is led by the University of Oxford in partnership with WHO, UNICEF, UNODC, USAID, CDC and the Global Partnership to End Violence.

By running with us you will be able to support the development and testing of ParentText and ParentChat in Malaysia.
