In 2014, EMERGENCY celebrated its 20th birthday.

On a wave of enthusiasm, we threw ourselves into a really hard task: to run 5,000 km for EMERGENCY before the Milan Marathon on 12th April 2015.

Knowing that strength lies in numbers, we calculated that we need at least 119 relay runners if we want to reach our goal, but we're sure we can do it. And we've got going well in advance, collecting names and asking friends, work colleagues, class-mates and 5-a-side team-mates to join us.

In the meantime, we'll be running other races too, including the Rome Marathon on 22nd March 2015 and some others that we'll tell you about nearer the time.

But kilometres aren't enough to sustain the EMERGENCY doctors, so we've set up this fund-raising mission too.

Our idea is to collect at least 1 euro per kilometre, which would raise at least 5,000 euros.

A lot? Not very much? We'll decide as we go along.

We've started training. Why don't you start letting everyone know about this appeal, and giving a few euros?

Thanks for everything you're able to do... see you on 12th April at the Milan Marathon.
