Educational support to Kongwa's students

Loading...

My daughter studies at high school in Kongwa, Tanzania!

With an annual contribution of € 280.00 you can support one student in Kongwa for a school year.

For 2016, we aim to sustain at least eleven high school girls (3.080 Euros)

The support will allow a girl to attend a school year at the high school, in particular the mentioned amount will help to:

- pay tuition fees;

- support the school structure (classes, toilets, teachers' salaries, etc.).

- pay for food and accommodation at the hostel;

IMPORTANT TO KNOW: The payment must be made before the end of January, to allow us to know how many girls will benefit from an aid and therefore can enroll at school.

The history of the project

At the request of the Diocese of Kongwa, in 1999 LVIA has built the hostel "J. Nyerere ", near the high school in the city center of Kongwa. The hostel currently hosts 80 girls and is essential to many young people, willing to continue their studies, that attend the high school thanks to this project.

Many young people of the villages in the region of Dodoma, once they finish primary school, are forced to stop attending classes because they can’t sustain the cost of school fees and because of the geographical distances.

The high school in Kongwa is, in fact, the only secondary school within 50 km, an area where mobility is difficult. Women are the first to be penalized because of these difficulties.

Usually a family can not afford to pay the studies to more than a child and daughters are often addressed toward the home duties.

With the transition to adulthood, illiteracy and lack of education cause social exclusion and poverty.

With the construction of the hostel, and all the related activities in support of the young students, LVIA wants to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women in society.

Informations guaranted to the supporter

Upon subscription, the donor will receive the photo of the child / class / student and the relevant information about her, her family and her village. Once a year, the donor will receive a letter from the child / class / student informing school activities and engagement of the students.

Mia figlia studia a Kongwa, Tanzania!

  • pagare la retta scolastica;

  • sostenere la struttura scolastica (classi, servizi igienici, stipendio degli insegnanti, ecc.);

  • pagare il vitto e l’alloggio presso l’ostello;
